From an Employee to an Entrepreneur: My 16 Year Career Journey

I began my career as an Aircraft Mechanic apprentice at Indamer Aviation in 2007. In 2024, I successfully executed a business deal with Indamer Aviation for supplying Porta office cabins to their Ahmedabad Airport Base.

This 16 year journey has taught me some of the most valuable lessons on career. One of the lesson that I've learnt is that one need not have to be the best, biggest or the smartest to be successful.

Starting in 2007 as a Aircraft Mechanic, I took on various roles - from being the hydraulic shop in-charge with a humble stipend of Rs 1500, to becoming an Aircraft Technician in 2008, working on Falcon 2000s, Gulfstream, and Citation jets. My career progressed to becoming a trainee AME with a license on C90 Aircraft in 2008 and then being promoted as Indamer Base In-charge at Bhubaneshwar Airport the same year.

I eventually left Indamer in 2010.

Was I BEST aircraft Technician ? NO

Was I the BEST Aircraft Hydraulic Shop-Inchange ? NO

Was I the BEST Aircraft Maintenance Engineer ? NO

Was i the Best Airport In-Charge ? NO

Life at Indamer Aviation was a solid 9 to 6 job. I didn't have one standout talent or key skill. It was the sum of all these experiences that shaped my entrepreneurial journey.

Engineering, stock keeping, procurement and customer handling skills which I acquired at Indamer Aviation made my enterpreneourship journey to where it is today

Your career success doesn't have to hinge on one big talent that defines you. Sometimes, the sum of your 'average' talents can be more valuable than any single big skill.

My journey from Aircraft Mechanic to Entrepreneur has been anything but linear. Every challenge, role, and mistake along the way contributed to who I am today. Success, I’ve learned, isn’t about being the best in one area it’s about combining all your experiences, staying curious, and growing a little every day.

As I continue to build and innovate through Hayajami Porta Solutions, I carry the same discipline, precision, and problem-solving mindset that aviation taught me because no experience ever goes to waste.
